Before you hire an auto appraiser, ask one question: who certified you?

Insurance carriers, umpires, and courts weigh an appraiser's qualifications. An appraisal from an appraiser with a verifiable credential and a documented methodology is harder to dismiss.

Find a Certified Appraiser

Three things to check

  1. The certifying organization and number. Look the appraiser up in the ASCAA registry.
  2. The method. A credible report shows its data sources, comparable vehicles, and math — not just a number.
  3. Standing behind the work. Ask whether the appraiser will respond to carrier rebuttals and testify to the report if needed.
